Baby Must Haves: Joovy Ergo Caboose & One for You!

When Kenzie was an infant and we were strolling through the mall, I was shocked to see a mother push a stroller that looked like a small ship with 5 tots sitting in it.  While I am quite obviously not at that point with bean #2, I do have to think about a double stroller.  I am thrilled to review the Ergo Caboose by Joovy.  I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised.  Assembly was super easy (pretty much just attach wheels canopy and snack tray/2 individual cup holders).  I have to admit I briefly looked at the manual and had Hubs attempt to blow up the back tires with a bike pump before realizing there was a proper pump included (cleverly strapped to the underneath storage area). 

I see so many parents struggling with two children and all of their belongings and necessities on outings.  I did not want to be that parent who gets stuck in doorways and has a difficult time maneuvering through crowds.  The Joovy Ergo Caboose, although a bit hefty in weight (29 pounds - I'm now a wimp ok?), is super sturdy and has a smooth suspension allowing for a comfortable ride for both tots.  The feature I was most excited about is the huge canopy for both front and back.  I am sun-aphobic (even though I grew up in FL) since noticing the splattering of sunspots on my face.  I want to protect Kenzie's smooth and delicate skin from the sun and the Joovy Ergo Caboose delivers.  The front canopy covers Kenzie face to the fullest while allowing her to see look around.  The back canopy is easily zippered on to allow the back rider to be protected as well while sitting (I have not seen this option in my friends' similar strollers).  I must note that the front canopy is rigid thus holding up to strong random winds here in CA.          

The stroller seats were another unique feature that was noticeable off the bat.  This is an ergonomically designed mesh seat which helps eliminate pressure points by evenly distributing the child’s weight across the entire mesh seat; this technology keeps working as your child grows.  Think fancy office chair adapted to stroller seat.  Joovy also offers an optional Ergo Deluxe Seat Covers provide heavy-duty padding in an array of 7 different colors (front & back seat covers included).  I'm all about padding but Kenzie seems to find the mesh seat comfortable as is so until she complains...

Another must mention feature for mamas of multiples is the very generous basket.  The rear seat flips up to allow full access: one can seriously fit a blanket, extra clothes, snacks, wipes, diapers, toys and much more!  A great feature when traveling or heading to amusement parks.  There are even large mesh pockets on the sides of the basket for quick access items.  Kenzie also enjoys the snack tray where she can put her toys, cup and snacks while strolling.  Very easy to open/close and even swap out with cup holders when she grows out of snack stage. 

I am excited to use the infant car seat attachment when bean arrives because he/she will be close to me while Kenzie will be enjoying the breeze from up front until it's time for bean to get their turn up there.  Note: Stroller can be folded with car seat attachment installed!  

The Joovy Ergo Caboose is super easy to unfold/fold.  There are white/clear clips on each side of the stroller to unfold and a push of the side button (on handlebar) then lift up on two side tabs to fold.  Aside from the stroller magically doing this itself, it really is the easiest close I have experienced thus far.  The only thing I would add to this awesome stroller would be cup holders for the parents. 

Joovy also offers single, triple and jogging strollers, playards (Black Room Playard - drool!), toys (4x4 Ride On would be on Kenzie's ultimate gift list), highchairs and a sleeping cot that all daycares should have.
